For the very first time in France, a collective photonic experience for the people of Nantes during local MAPP_NTS Festival. We were thrilled to see 393 participants create their Fantom character for the 2-months long dynamic projection to ignite life in the Île de Nantes area.

”It was a magical experience to try at home while confined. Looking for our movement, Laughing while filming ourselves, and a great puff of Oxygen when swinging by the projection coming back home from school !”

2018- Experimenting with movement, drawing, and the Montreal skateboarding scene, Philippe finds that there is great creative potential in merging the animated characters with the real world. The first Fantômes are used more than 100 million times in the form of stickers in Instagram stories.
He collaborates with athletes from all over the world and continues to explore the technique further with projections in the streets of Tokyo.
The new mission : To simplify the animation process and make it accessible to everyone. The audience must be able to create their own characters and bring them to life through light.
2020 - After several prototypes in Canada, Marie embarks on the adventure and the very first large scale experience is launched in Nantes, France.
Les Fantômes de l’Îlegathers all the characters created by the locals on a giant illuminated facade.
The feedback from visitors and the general enthusiasm for the project is amazing. All the components of the experience that worked well are gathered in 3 formats: Fantômaton, Fantômobile and Fantômapping.
